@Counter-Watchtower This thread from three months ago will give you some first-hand insight on the front Jehovah's Witnesses are programmed to put up in order to recruit new members and maintain a happy facade among one another during meeting gatherings. Once they get home and the door clicks shut, the reality is much darker, unfortunately: https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5197852651290624/jehovahs-people-happy-people

@Akid48 Unfortunately, my father is the old school personification of the Society. A "contemporary" (if you will) of Frederick Franz and was present at one of his conventions. Growing up, every quote began with: "The Society says...". There was no middle ground.

Do JWs wonder why never converted someone that knows the Bible?
by Counter-Watchtower inmy experience with jws that came to my house started me on a journey of learning the truth about "jehovah's organization".
it didnt take long for me to stump them with bible questions that show what jw org teaches is not biblically accurate.
i hope when i lay on them 6 pages of their history (which will later be a counter-watchtower magazine) the light will come on when they read about pyramids and see photos.

Oh, I'm sorry - I thought you were a FORMER Witness when reading your previous post/comments. I had no idea you were not connected to the organization on a familial or emotional level. In that case, thank you for taking a critical interest in the organization!
The thing is with Jehovah's Witnesses, they have a strong illusion that they DO know their organization's history due to the material that "covers" (read: white washes) their legacy. Jehovah's Witnesses are currently studying a book entitled God's Kingdom Rules. It is carefully packaged as a walk down memory lane for the Society, but cleverly (and often brazenly, since there are not many left who were alive to verify the statements) omits and misrepresents things as they happened.
Your typical Witness will gladly tell you that they know all about Pyramidology and the whole shebang. What they know is just a version. A neatly, little packaged version where things actually make sense and don't sound so crackpot.
Many Witnesses DO believe they have successfully converted people with knowledge of the Bible with their use of the publication, What Does the Bible Really Teach? Since this book has scriptures peppered throughout it to support the Witness doctrine, many Jehovah's Witnesses experience the wondrous pleasure of "opening the eyes" of those in so-called Christendom. The kind of knowledge YOU seem to be talking about is a little more unshakable and assertive. Perhaps you are of the minority that Witnesses struggle to have success with.
Are you scholared in theology? Or an avid participant of a particular denomination? Either way, keep up with those questions you've posed to the Witnesses at your door. You should maybe make a post about what you asked them!

"What is masturbation" was the question I kept asking my siblings and parents about after a Sunday meeting when I picked up my very own blue hardcover version of the Young People Ask book. My brother told me it's something I should ask my father about. Oh, he told me. I remember he said it was something about "manipulating our own sex organs for pleasure". Didn't I feel like the smarty pants child.

Writing a book on Leaving Jehovah's Witnesses - suggestions welcome
by truthseeker inso i finally decided to start writing a book on exiting jehovah's witnesses.
i've been meaning to do this for a very long time.
there are so many books out there and i don't want to repeat what everyone else has written.. although the book will include some basic history of jehovah's witnesses and the usual doctrinal flaws, it's core audience are those who are thinking about leaving, in the process of leaving or have already left.. the book will contain case studies of people who've left and made a success of their life.

Wow. Number two sounds like a section of the book I would love to read! When I heard of disaffected Circuit Overseers leaking his documents, I was stunned that someone operating at that capacity in the organization could be awake, yet still "going through the motions", as you described it. It sounds like you're putting together something really interesting! Best of luck.

I'm starting a Counter-Watchtower magazine
by Counter-Watchtower inim starting a counter-watchtower magazine for everyone to give to their jw friends and family or just to give to those that come to your door.
the first issue is about the history of pyramidology of c.t.
russel and under the start of rutherford along with some other things like pointing out the fact that no one knows the translators of the nwt or writers of the watchtower, "the two very things relied on to teach you".. its writen in such a way to be very repectful but to make the reader think, and hopefully the light come on.

It sounds like a really interesting project you're undertaking. I just know from person experience that Jehovah's Witnesses won't even accept a photocopy of their OWN magazine back issues because the source that's handing it to them is not a Jehovah's Witness, or it's someone still in, but trying to flag an issue. They're very hypocritical about rigorously handing people literature but will readily decline or throw away without reading anything given to them that covers religion.
@ScenicViewer Opening line "Im starting" needs an apostrophe, and don't forget "watchtower" requires an upper case. I understand the need for correct grammar and spelling when conveying important messages because sometimes the power of your content can become cheapened if the reader is distracted by simple typographical blunders. But hey - when banging out comments on here, I know I slip up for sure and use the wrong word at times. Pls dont dis my speling : (.
